  • The smallest details in Side Imaging matter the most!
In this episode of On The Water with The Technological Angler, Dr. Jason Halfen provides three key adjustments that supercharge the Humminbird Side Imaging view, making it easier to find more fish - and find them faster - on every trip. Then, we put these tips to use by locating walleyes on a hard-bottom offshore hump and turn lookers into biters by snap-jigging with soft plastics.

Really appreciate how you covered what was indicated in the title and then went on to a few strategy/techniques. With the information on the rod/reel/line/bait thrown in it completed the whole picture. Extremely enjoyable and informative video to watch. Thanks!

Great show! I appreciate how you show what to look for as well as how to catch. I see your high speed transducer is mounted higher than mine. I lose bottom at about 23-25 mph depending on trim. Aluminum Lund boat. I Have it mounted between rivet lines. I’ll move it up, like yours and see how that does. Mine is mounted with the leading edge a little below the hull.

I've had the helix 7 for a year now and after trying every setting I could and not seeing any fish on the side imaging I just purchased the XHS 9 HDSI 180 Transducer and boom, fish everywhere,

Wonderful on-the-water demonstration of getting the most out of SI. Do you ever use the 455 frequency when scanning at longer ranges for structure/cover on new bodies of water?

I've sometimes watched my bait and fish go to my bait on 2D sonar but I can't on side image, any comments on this. I know I'm continuously moving on side image but why doesn't side image work sitting still like 2D

Enjoy your videos. What are your thoughts on running 2 SI transducers, one on each side of the transom with a Y-splitter? Ive heard that gives clearer images, avoids trim height interference, etc but figured you will know.

Best way to do it. Have been rigging my boats that way for over 10 years - because it works!

@@TheTechnologicalAngler so have them bang on level and I also noticed that you have them raised up how far up from the bottom of the boat do you have them..
